Best Massage
Sally Stryker, LMT
I give luxurious massages in the
comfort of your home.
Massage therapy contributes to a well balanced, healthier you.
After a consultation to understand your individual needs,
I will personalize your massage, using some of the following techniques:
Swedish Massage
The classic technique of the Swedes is deeply relaxing and calming. Strokes are directed from the extremities towards the heart, stimulating circulation, lymphatic drainage and a general feeling of wellbeing.
Deep Tissue Massage
Sometimes you just want someone to get in there and dig! Deep tissue massage is an intense set of strokes, pressure, vibration and manipulations that go to a more intense level to release ischemic (oxygen-deprived) trouble spots often buried deep within muscle and fascia. Sally uses a 10-point pain scale to tailor pressure to each client's specific tolerance levels.
Foot Reflexology
With a great many of the body's nerve endings located in the foot, the trained therapist can manipulate specific areas in the foot to trigger muscular releases in corresponding areas of the body. Used as a diagnostic tool in hospitals in the UK, Reflexology offers a powerful distal complementary option in treating areas of the body that cannot be accessed due to swelling, bruising or pain. An abbreviated form of Reflexology is included in the general massage, but it can also be scheduled as an independent treatment.
Sports/Athletic Massage
Orthopedic stretches and pin-and-release trigger point therapies can enhance performance and prolong a sports or dance career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pain and swelling in the body, relax the mind, and increase flexibility and range of motion. This type of massage can dramatically improve post-performance recovery rates.
Scalp Massage
Gentle scratching, stroking and comfort techniques can help to stimulate the scalp, ease stress and quiet the mind. Specific Traditional Chinese Medicine acupressure points are used as complementary therapy to Western massage for the head and scalp. Can be scheduled as a separate 30-minute session.
Abdominal Massage
This massage modality can be very helpful in aiding those who suffer from constipation or those who prefer to promote regular elimination of waste from the body. Circular movements and use of vibration stimulate natural peristaltic contractions in the large and small intestines; gall bladder and liver-oriented techniques increase the flow of bile. This therapy is a great way to enhance a detox regime.
Intra Oral Massage
For clients who suffer from Temporomandibular Joint disorders (TMJ), teeth grinding, headaches, misalignment of the teeth or jaw, stress, or poor posture, this modality can offer great relief. A surprising amount of tension may unconsciously lie in the jaw and release of this area can serve to relax the mind and body in a profound way. This therapy is not offered by most massage therapists, but since Sally's father was an orthodontist, she loves providing this service!
Comfort Massage
Some clients are ticklish, uncomfortable with conventional massage or are in a fragile state and need a gentle, warm touch. Sally applies soothing strokes, holding, and gentle rocking to increase circulation, ease worry and provide clients with a feeling that they have been lovingly cared for. She is certified in Reiki Level II for a touchless session, if needed.
Post-Op Massage
After surgery, it's important to keep up the circulation and movement in healing areas. In the old days the standard protocol was "RICE" - rest, ice, compression, elevation, but now many doctors are prescribing "MICE" - movement, ice, compression, elevation! Massage therapies can speed recovery times for clients healing from surgeries, resulting in increased nerve sensation, range of motion and flexibility. Foot Reflexology methods can be drawn upon to further stimulate the area from afar if the injury is acute or if there is swelling, bruising or intolerable pain in the area.

Ms. Stryker's intra-oral jaw release is something that I can heartily recommend to my patients who suffer from TMJ and other jaw problems. She performed the treatment on me and I felt safe in her skilled hands. The relaxation I felt in my jaw muscles was remarkable.
